10 5. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS 5.1 Installing battery Unpack the device. Unit is supp lied with battery not installed. Prior to installing the batter y, make sure the switch (1, Fig.1) is in the OFF position and the lens cap is on. Unscrew the battery compartment cover (5, Fig.1), and install 2 fresh AA batteries. 12 5.4 Operating at night Take off the l ens cover (6, Fig.1) from t he lens (7, Fig .1). Turn on the d evice using sw itch (1, Fi g.1). If lig hting is insufficient, turn on the IR illuminato r by turning switch (1, Fig.1). The red i ndicator (Fig. 3 ) will go on. 16 5.10 Using opti onal helmet mount The unit can b e equipped wi th an opt ional he lmet m ount. This mount c an be customized to fit a variet y of existing helmet models.
