11 6. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS 6.1 Installing battery Unit is supplied with uninstalled battery. Prior to installing the battery, make sure the switch (1, Fig.1) is in the OFF po sition and t he lens cap is on. The unit can operate on either AA Alkaline or CR-123 Lithium battery. 13 6.5 Focusing To obtain a sharp image at some other dista nces adjust the lens focus (3, Fig. 1) leavi ng the eyepiece setting intact. You should be able to obtain a sharp image for distan ces from 2-10m to infinity. 14 6.7 Auto shut OFF at bright ligh t The NVS 14-3GCS monocular has a built-in high ligh t sensor located near the IR illuminator (2, Fig. 1). This sensor shu ts the monocular o ff after abo ut 45 second exposure to light exceedin g 10 -1 lux. To reset the monocular switch it off and then back on as described in 6. 3 and 6.2.
