9 IN S TAL LING A BACKUP BATTE RY If AC po wer fails or you unpl ug th e T A D, a 9V backup battery (not su ppli e d) saves t he message groups , message coun t s, and the settings for the day , time, and s e cu rity cod e. 12 BASIC O PERA TION SETTI NG THE T AD TO ANSWER CALLS The ANSWER indicator l i ghts to indi cate which line the T AD is set to answer on; or announc e only . 15 RECORDING A MEMO A m emo is a message you can record at the T A D f or yourself or others. Y ou can record memos of up to 60 seco n ds l ong in ea ch line.
