BA TTERY INST ALLA TION Y our UH042XR radio uses 3 AA ALKALINE batteries for power . Please refer to page 18 should you wish to use rechargeable batteries. T o install the batteries: 1. LOW BA TTERY ALERT The LCD on your radio shows a battery meter in the lower right corner . icon indicates a fully powered unit. As the batteries lose power , will flash. During scanning if a signal is sensed on a CTCSS CH, the UH-042XR stops for about 400msecs (decode time) to decode the CTCSS code.
