12 REMOVING THE STEREO FROM T HE DASH If you ever want to remove the stereo from the dash, follow these steps. 1. Disconnect th e cable from your vehicle’s negative ( – ) battery ter- minal. 2. If you secured the stereo to an existing mount ing hole un der the dash, slid e out the s tereo to fre e the mount ing bo lt f rom th e mounting hole. O[...]

13 USING T HE FAC EPL AT E The stereo ’s faceplate must be in place f or the stereo t o operate. When you remove it , the displ ay turns off and t he stereo can not be u sed.
