5 SECTION 2: ASSEMBLING YOUR SNOW THROWER Loose P arts The augers are secured to t he auger shaft with two shear bolts and hex lock nuts . If you hit a foreign object or ice jam, the sn ow thrower is designed so tha t the bolts may shear. Two replaceme nt shear bolts and nuts are provided for you r convenience. 14 Traction Control / Auger Control Lock The cams on the ends of the control r ods which interlock the tract ion drive and auger drive controls must be lubricated at least once a season or every 25 hours of opera tion.
