4 READ THI S BEFORE I NST ALLA TI ON Each device that you connect to the phone line draws pow er from the phone line. We refer to this powe r draw as the device’s Rin ger Equivalence Number, or REN. 12 USING RINGER ON/O FF To turn off the han dset’s ringer so you will not be disturbed by a telephone call , set RINGER ON/OFF to OFF . Th i s set ti ng also saves battery power.
