7 PREPARATION SELECTING A LOCATION You can place the phone on a desk top or table, or mou nt it on a standar d wall plate. Select a location that is: • near an accessible AC outlet • near a telephon e line jack • out of the way of norma l activities • away from e lectrical machinery , electrical appliances, metal walls o r filing cabinets, [...]

8 4. Insert the supplied AC adapter ’s barrel plug into the DC 9V jack on the back of the base. 5. Route the adap ter ’s cord thr ough the strain relie f slot on the back of the base. 6.
