3 SETTING UP Your 1266-X is just about ready to use. The only adjustment required is the angle of the search coil and the length of the stem. 14 OPERATING TIPS 1. We’ve already said it but it bears repeating: TAKE YOUR TIME AND OVERLAP YOUR SWEEPS. 2. Keep your discrimination levels set low. 18 BATTERY RECHARGING Rechargeable nicad batteries may take as many as 1,000 recharges, however they do have some limitations you should be aware of: 1. Nicads will last only about half as long as standard carbon-zinc batteries before recharging is required. 2. Nicads may develop a “memory” if you give them repeated “booster” charges. In ot[...]
