8 How the Bac kup Sensors W ork The sensors detect the nearest rear obstacle. The corner sensor detects the side wall. When towing a trailer , the audible signal may k eep sounding if the shift lev er is mov ed to the rev erse position. When this occurs, turn the backup sensor switch OFF . The sensors may not detect the b umpers of a tall vehicle.[...]

9 Limitations The system may not sense thin or lo w objects or sonic-absorptive materials such as snow , cotton, or sponge.
