8 5. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS 5.1 Installing battery Unit is supplied with uninstalled battery. Prior to installing the battery, make sure the switch (1, Fig.1) is in the OFF po sition and t he lens ca p is on. The unit can operate on either AA Alkaline or CR-123 Lithium battery. 10 5.5 Focusing To obtain a sharp image at some other dista nces adjust the lens focus (3, Fig. 1) leavi ng the eyepiece setting intact. You should be able to obtain a sharp image for distan ces from 2-10m to infinity. 11 5.7 Auto shut OFF at bright ligh t The NVS 15 goggles has a built-in high light sensor located near the IR illuminator (2, Fig. 1). Th is sensor shuts the goggles off after about 45 second exp osure to light e xceeding 10 -1 lux. To reset the go ggles switch it off and then back on as descri bed in 6.3 and 6. 2. 12 5.9 Swinging head moun ted unit for unobstructed view When the hea d mounted unit is not in use you ca n raise it to cl ear the view without takin g the headgear off by using the “flip/fl op” feature.
